The new syllabus is expected to be effective from the 2016-17 academic year. The circular also states that the Class VII syllabus is also expected to change in the academic year June 2017 for (2017-2018).
The bureau is also introducing the new Marathi Yuvakbharati textbook for Class XI students. This book will be introduced from the academic year 2016-2017.
The distributor and wholesaler, Zohar Golwala, owner of Saifee Book Depo, said: "We have not yet received any circular from the bureau's textbook distribution centre. But, since they have declared a change in syllabus we can return our old textbook stocks."
A source from Maharashtra State Bureau Of Textbooks Distribution Center, Goregaon, on condition of anonymity, said: "We received a circular about the change in syllabus recently. Soon, it will be circulated to distributors and wholesalers."
